Every night I find myself on the tile floor
Scribbling chicken scratch letters and lines running together
I can paint a picture but I gave it up long ago
I'm busy stacking papers and staring out the window
So much for letting the sleeping dogs lie
You give 'em their space and they still wanna bite
Maybe I'm wrong
Maybe I'm right
But we're all a little crazy in hindsight
I can't remember who I was before the dust began to settle
I'm building towers but I lack the metal
Sometimes I catch a glimpse of what it's like in past tense
What I know now I wish I knew then
So much for letting the sleeping dogs lie
You give 'em their space and they still wanna bite
Maybe I'm wrong
Maybe I'm right
But we're all a little crazy in hindsight
So hold me to it
I'll get us through it
It's taken me longer to come out of it stronger
I don't ever mean to drag anybody down
If we don't get knocked out
We'll go another round
So much for letting the sleeping dogs lie
You give 'em their space and they still wanna bite
Maybe I'm wrong
Maybe I'm right
But we're all a little crazy in hindsight
